Behind the door

11 Dolvin Road

At the time of the 1851 Census, just three doors up from their extended family at number 8 lived the Broads; John, Elizabeth and children Elizabeth Jane, one and Josiah aged seven.

Sadly, Josiah didn't appear on number 11's Census records again, but the Broads had three more daughters by 1861; Emma, Lucy and Jessie.

The Dawes were in residence in 1881, then the Burns family, who were tenants in the 1890s though to some time after 1911. By the time of the Census in 1921, number 11 was home to William and Emma Williams and their two young children, Elsie and Reginald.
