What's Their Story?
Hidden lives behind the doors of a Victorian street in Devon
Behind the door
23 Dolvin Road
Arthur and Elizabeth Pedlar were the first residents of number 23, with five children aged between three and 15 years old, in 1851. The family lived there for over 30 years, then the Parsons family took on the tenancy.

The Parsons were also long-term residents, with a second generation of this family, the Minhinnicks, living there until at least 1911, after which it became home to Alice Cornish and members of her family.
